Cal Poly Steel Bridge Team Sets New School Record at Regionals
Precision Intern and Team Captain Michael Clark Brings Home 1st!
Over the weekend of April 14th, Precision intern and team captain Michael Clark, shown on the right, and the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Steel Bridge team competed in regionals hosted by ASU in Tempe, AZ. The team assembled the bridge in 2 minutes & 41 seconds, a Cal Poly record! (Follow this link to view our construction video: https://drive.google.co
m/open?id=1FtkX9pnu6Pp5Yd0BfgK Sztx3tmh5cjpF). The Cal Poly SLO team competed against 17 other schools from California, Nevada, Arizona, and Hawaii and won 1st Place Overall! For the individual subcategories, they placed 1st in Stiffness, Lightness, Construction Speed, Economy, and Efficiency. Next month, the team competes at Nationals in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois.
